The wizard Merlin took Uther Pendragon's first-born to be raised in safety.

In time, as Merlin had foreseen, the child drew the sword from the stone and was proclaimed King of England.

Merlin was always a big-picture thinker. If he'd been a details guy, he might have noticed that the child was a girl.

Can Martha unite the land and usher in a golden age of chivalry, all while maintaining her secret identity?

New feature: Zoom

Hi! Just wanted to point out the new zoom control near the top-right of the comic image. Tap anywhere on it to zoom in on the first panel of the comic. Keep tapping to cycle through panels 2, 3, 4 and back to the full-page view.

I thought this might be handy for anyone viewing the comic on a small phone screen, but I’m not even sure how many of you read that way. What do you think? Useful? Pointless? Broken? Needs more work? Let me know in the comments, so I can tell if this feature is worth keeping and/or improving.

I’m ignoring the obvious similarity between “King Claudas” and Clovis, king of the Franks and founder of the Merovingian Dynasty. And not just because I only found out about it after I’d written this chapter ;)

I’ve mangled the timeline somewhat, but frankly (no pun intended) it was a mess even before I got my hands on it. Malory jumps back and forth in time, and occasionally a knight will show up after he died in another story, or before he was knighted. In this case, there’s no way to fully reconcile the dates of Clovis’s reign (481-511) with the date Malory gives for the Grail Quest (454 years after the Passion) which is supposed to happen at least two generations after the first encounter with “King Claudas”.

I'm more concerned about them wanting gold armor...

At least one of them gets it. Though it will do more then just Dent. It will be heavy and easily penetrated by heavy weapons.

As always, this made me smile!

Ban and Bors? Are you sure you don’t mean “Bill and Ted”?
